Caliber is a full-service, independent valuation and economic consulting firm with offices in Chicago, San Diego, and Washington, D.C. We assist clients and their advisors with investment decisions, reporting requirements, and skillful representation in the boardroom or courtroom.

Caliber’s current geographical footprint began with the 2015 combination of two pre-eminent full-service, independent valuation and economic consulting firms – one which was founded in San Diego in 1990 and led by Ken Nunes – and the other which was founded in Chicago in 2003 and led by Heather Grove and Joe Ruble. The long-standing relationship between the principals of the two firms and their shared high standards for client service and desire to broaden the availability of resources for clients and create rewarding opportunities for their employees provided the motivation for the combination.

Shortly thereafter, the firm further broadened its leadership team and service offerings with the addition of Bjorn Steinholt, a high caliber professional with more than twenty-five years of experience providing capital markets consulting, including financial and economic analyses relating to mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, fairness opinions, private placements, venture capital investments, structured finance, portfolio risk management, market structure, performance measurement, option and warrant valuations and shareholder disputes.

In late 2016, the depth of the leadership team increased again when Rick Knoll joined the firm’s office in the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. Rick came to Caliber with over twenty years of experience performing business valuation and corporate advisory work for companies across an array of industries. In addition, Rick brought practical experience from his service as the Chief Financial Officer of a venture-backed technology company and as a financial consultant to a range of companies from the middle-market to the Fortune 50.
