Ken Nunes Managing Director Ken brings 24 years of proven valuation and consulting expertise. Combining his global consulting background with extensive hands-on experience, Ken provides focused economic, valuation and industry knowledge to clients of Caliber Advisors. His extensive knowledge in appraising securities and intangible assets makes him the go-to professional for clients that include private and public companies, regulators and non-profit institutions. His vast and diverse experience includes determining the value of complex investments, damages and intellectual properties. Frequently retained as an expert on valuation and economic issues, Ken has appeared before the California Superior Court, U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court and U.S. Tax Court. Ken began his career in 1985 at Arthur D. Little, where he managed all valuations of financial institutions and their portfolios for the west coast region. An innovative thinker, he originated several portfolio valuation tools to value the following financial instruments: auto and equipment loans and leases, commercial loans, residential mortgages, commercial first and junior mortgages, mortgage servicing rights, CDs, and deposit and credit card relationships used by Big 4 accounting firms. Since founding Caliber, he has developed advance valuation models for other complex equity and debt instruments, as well as intangible assets. Prior to founding Caliber Advisors., Ken served as the managing principal at Business Valuation Services (CBIZ). He founded the San Diego office of CBIZ in 1996. Ken received BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from UC Davis where he was first in his class in the master's program of 1981. He also received his MBA from UCLA where he graduated with honors in 1985. The CFA Institute designated him a Chartered Financial Analyst. |
